This project is for the extension of an existing residential home. The extension consists of 12 new residential rooms, a dining room, winter garden, day room, cinema, laundry and staff area.

The site neighbours a Grade 1 listed church so maintaining a low level construction was essential. The development benefited from a natural level change in the site which provided the vehicle for a split level extension with accommodation at both the upper and lower levels.

Due to the length of the extension it was important to avoid the feeling of continuous corridors so a staggered access is provided to both the upper and lower tiers. Added to this full height glazing is proposed along the upper corridor to enable views out and maximum light into the lower areas.
